City of Industry, CA (October 2, 2018) – Anderson Composites uses the latest dry carbon fiber technology to develop a new replacement roof for the 2014-2018 Ford Focus. This dry carbon fiber roof is a direct aftermarket replacement component that was molded from an original factory Ford Focus RS roof to ensure a proper fit. Roofs are compatible for 2014-2018 Focus ST, SE and Titanium hatchback along with 2016-2018 Focus RS.
Dry carbon fiber has a higher tensile strength and is lighter in weight than standard vacuum-infused carbon fiber. Our dry carbon fiber has pre-impregnated resin within the high-quality 3k, 2x2 fabric. When the part is subjected to the high temperature and pressure inside an autoclave, the part changes its structural properties and becomes more rigid. The added rigidity becomes a benefit when added to a vehicle’s roof, which endures lateral forces in all directions when in motion. This component is a replacement part, not a “cap” or a simple “overlay”. This replacement roof panel weighs approximately 16.5 lbs. which is significantly less compared to the 27 lb. steel factory unit. The addition of this roof along with our carbon fiber doors and rear hatch reduces even more weight and makes a better handling Focus for any track.
